History and philosophy of science, particularly sixteenth and seventeenth century natural philosophy.
I am curious about the infinite ways that the universe can be thought of as organized or ordered, disorganized or disordered. In my thesis, I examined physical causality and the meaning of geometry in Renaissance and early modern cosmology, focusing on Kepler and his intellectual context (from Lutheran theology to sixteenth century medicine). I also have an interest in contemporary structuralist interpretations of science, as well as in the philosophy of technology.
