Natural philosophy covers, for the period concerned, a broad spectrum of disciplines : from the theory of elements to cosmology, from mineralogy to a part of psychology, to botany and zoology. It is based on the general theory of movement and for neighborhood disciplines on the one hand the "intermediate" sciences : static, mechanical, optical, music, and on the other hand disciplines of application such as medicine, alchemy , Astrology. The research carried out in this theme tries to reconstruct both the textual traditions (constitution of the corpus, problems of transmission and circulation between different periods and the various cultural spheres : Greek, Arabic, Hebrew and Latin) and conceptual traditions With their own stakes (analysis of foundations, innovations, use of analogies and models, role of experience, forms of mathematization ...). The themes discussed, especially those concerning the development of a world system, the analysis of the foundations of physical discipline, or the conception of the relations between physics and mathematics, make it possible to trace ways of passage to others Themes.
